Medical Services
A comprehensive Health Care Program is provided to all residents at Brother James Court. Each resident has access to a personal care physician who participates as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team. BJC also has a Medical Director whose role includes consulting services, review and development of facility medical policies and procedures, and is hands-on with many of our residents as their personal care physician. At Brother James Court our Medical Director visits our facility routinely, which enables our residents to see their physician without making a special trip.Residents have a customized plan of care designed to address their physical and mental needs. Our Director of Nursing is a Registered Nurse. Licensed Practical Nurses are on-site around the clock. Many of our Direct Service Providers have also obtained Certified Nursing Assistant training. Our nursing staff completes physical assessments routinely on each resident to help ensure ongoing good health. Nursing staff keep the family or guardian informed of any significant changes in our resident’s condition. Families and guardians are encouraged to attend each resident’s annual plan of care review. It is our desire that families be involved in the decision making and planning of their loved one’s care plan and we encourage and welcome their ongoing support.
A full-time rehabilitation aide and therapy team provide the needed exercises and activities required to maintain or enhance our residents’ physical abilities and functional levels.
Our caring nurses are highly skilled and educated to meet the special needs of our residents. Their dedication and concern for each individual is reflected in their delivery of good quality care. The BJC nursing staff provides services 24 hours every day.
We are fortunate to have professionals committed to providing health services for our men here in their home. BJC provides up to date facilities to accommodate the changing needs of our residents.
